Type locality. Restricted to Poá, state of São Paulo, Brazil, by Hoge and Romano (1978) .

Distribution. Endemic to Brazil ( Plt. 218A View Plate 218 ). Restricted to the southern portion of the Atlantic Forest ( Plt. 218A View Plate 218 ), mostly from low to intermediate elevations ( Plt. 218B View Plate 218 ). Observed in the field in open areas (restinga), wetlands, lakes, rivers, and riparian vegetation ( Pereira et al., 2007).
