Type locality. Paysandu, Uruguay .

Distribution. Known from southern South America in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay ( Plt. 225A View Plate 225 ). In Brazil, widespread in Pampas Grasslands, with marginal records in Atlantic Forest and Araucaria Forest ( Plt. 225A View Plate 225 ), mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 225B View Plate 225 ). Observed in the field in grassland and disturbed areas ( Etchepare and Zaracho, 2009; Nenda and DiPietro, 2009).
