Type locality. Paramaribo, Suriname .

Distribution. Known from Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela ( Plt. 186A View Plate 186 ). In Brazil, widespread in northern Amazonia and in its contact with Guianan savanna ( Plt. 186A View Plate 186 ) at low elevations ( Plt. 186B View Plate 186 ). Observed in the field in primary and secondary forest, and savanna ( Dixon and Soini, 1977, 1986, Hoogmoed, 1980, Martins and Oliveira, 1993).
