Type locality. Cayenne , French Guiana .

Distribution. Known from Bolívia, Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela, mostly in Amazonia ( Plt. 131A View Plate 131 ). In Brazil, it is widespread in Amazonia with marginal records in Chiquitano Dry Forest ( Plt. 131A View Plate 131 ), mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 131B View Plate 131 ). Observed in the field in forest, pasture, and disturbed areas ( Martins and Oliveira, 1998; Bernarde and Abe, 2006; Silva et al., 2011).
