Type locality. Buenos Aires, Argentina .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay ( Plt. 354A View Plate 354 ). In Brazil, widespread in the Cerrado, Pantanal, Atlantic Forest, and Pampas Grasslands, with marginal records in the Araucaria Forest and the Caatinga ( Plt. 354A View Plate 354 ) from low to high elevations ( Plt. 354B View Plate 354 ). Observed in the field in wet grasslands, palm marshes, and gallery forest ( FranÇa and Araújo, 2006; Martins et al., 2008b; Hartmann et al., 2009; Guedes et al., 2014).
