Type locality. Suriname .

Distribution. Known from Bolívia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad, and Venezuela ( Plt. 339A View Plate 339 ).In Brazil,widespread in Amazonia, with marginal records in Chiquitano Dry Forest, with a disjunct northern Atlantic Forest population ( Plt. 339A View Plate 339 ). Most records at low elevations ( Plt. 339B View Plate 339 ). Observed in the field in forest ( Cunha and Nascimento, 1993; Martins and Oliveira, 1998; Bernarde and Abe, 2006).
