Flora Vitiensis: 290 (1868). — Type: Rumphius, Herbarium Amboinense 5: t. 61 fig. 2 (1747) (lecto-, here designated).
REMARKS The diagnosis by Colla is essentially based on Rumphius’ (1747: 137, t. 61 fig. 2). That is the lectotype of M. troglodytarum L. (1767) also, which name antedates M. uranoscopos Seem. (1868) .
