The genus Eremochorus View in CoL includes 48 species distributed in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Northern China, South Siberia, and the Russian Far East ( Fig. 3 View Figure 3 ) ( Gebler 1833; Schoenherr 1834, 1842; Motschulsky 1860a, 1860b; Capiomont 1868; Faust 1883, 1885, 1890a, 1890b; Stierlin & Faust 1883; Reitter 1896; Petri 1901, 1903, 1907; Suvorov 1912; Zaslavskij 1962, 1966, 1971, 1978; Bajtenov 1974, 1982; Korotyaev 1995; Legalov 2007, 2011, 2012, 2021, 2022; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2023). The Mugodzhar Hills of Kazakhstan for E. barsevskisi is the westernmost find ( Legalov 2021), Barshino of Karaganda Region for E. steppensis and Bureya Range for E. mongolicus View in CoL are the northern finds ( Zaslavskij 1966), south of Primorskii Krai for E. belokobyskyi is the north-eastern find (Legalov 2011), Beijing for E. chinensis is south-eastern find (Faust, 1890). This genus is absent from Iran ( Legalov et al. 2010). The diversity center is located in East and South-East Kazakhstan. Eremochorus concinnus (as Hypera praecomatus ) was recorded from the Pleistocene of Western Ukraine ( Lomnicki 1894) and Eremochorus steppensis from Novosibirskaya Oblast’ (Suzun-1, 24.893 –25.966 cal BP) ( Gurina et al. 2023).
