Description:—Pileus 7–16 mm wide, conical when young, then convex or obtusely umbonate, sulcate, translucent-striate, pruinose but soon lubricous, hygrophanous, the margin frequently out of flatness, pale yellowish (3A2–3A3), sallow (3B2–3B3), pure yellow (2A2–2A3), olivaceous yellowish (2A3–2A5), yellowish with brown tinge (5E4–5E7), darker at the centre, fading light towards the margin. Context whitish (5A1) to grayish-yellow (5B2), thin. Lamellae adnate, having a short tooth, yellowish white to buff (4A2-4A3), edges lemon to sordid yellow (3A3–3A4). Stipe 29–66 × 0.5–1.5 mm, equal, fragile, hollow, pubescent, olivaceous yellowish (5D6–5E6), with tan (6E7) in lower parts, base somewhat mycelioid. Odorless, taste mild.
Basidiospores (9.7)10.6–11.9(13.0) × 4.4–5.5 μm, Q=1.7–2.2, narrowly ellipsoid to almost cylindrical, smooth, thin walled, with drops, amyloid. Basidia clavate, 28–41 × 7–12 μm, 4–spored, thin walled, hyaline. Cheilocystidia 35–56 × 9–21 μm, clavate, awl–shaped, fusoid–ventricose with narrow neck or variously branched prolongations, with colorless to light olive-yellow (5A2) contents. Pleurocystidia absent. Hyphae of the pileipellis 2–6 μm across, dense fingerlike excrescences, 1.7–3.9 × 1.5–1.7 μm, clustering serried masses, olive-yellow pigment not obviously. Stipitipellis consist of 2–5 μm wide hyphae, crowed diverticulate, 2.2–6.3 × 1.2–1.5 μm, nearly colorless. Clamps present in all tissues.
Habitat:—Single, scattered, or gregarious among grasses in Larix .
Known distribution:— China, Asia ( Aravindakshan 2015), Europe ( Smith 1947, Robich 2003, Aronsen & Laessøe 2016), North America ( Smith 1947; Perry 2002), South America ( Smith 1947).
