Cultotype: USA. Texas, Houston, from mass spore sowing on autoclaved leaf of Bauhinia sp. tree, Dec 1979, leg. C.J. Alexopoulos, exUTMC, DWM 3618 [two boxes + one slide, K-M001435090], ( Fig. 3G View FIGURE 3 ).
Notes. In his notebook, Mitchell wrote that the sample was sent by C.J.Alexopoulos, and is “from mass spore sowing on autoclaved leaf of Bauhinia sp. from monosporous culture on corn meal agar with Enterobacter ascogenus . Sporulated in Houston, Texas, Dec 1979 ”. This cultotype is probably from Holotypus UTMC 1681 About UTMC kept for more than 30 subcultures over 16 years ( Henney et al. 1980: 161). The holotype UTMC 1681 About UTMC is in BPI 749236 View Materials , and other cultotypes were sent to NY 00834430 , ATCC, K 53672 , University of Helsinki ( Finland), Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo, La Plata ( Argentina); and private collections of D.T. Kowalski, N.E. Nannenga-Bremekamp, and D.W. Mitchell, as above.
