Type species: Bizone saalmuelleri Butler, 1882 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. The subgenus is described in details by Karisch (2013). Except the characteristic external appearance, the subgenus is characterized by the scobinated anellus, large aedeagus and vesica bearing two clusters of numerous robust spines in male genitalia, and thick-walled and rugose corpus bursae and the appendix bursae consisting of a thick-walled and rugose, tube-like basal section and a membranous globular distal section in female genitalia.
Distribution. The subgenus is endemic for Madagascar Island.
