Arenopontia subterranea Kunz, 1937 sensu Rao (1991) View in CoL
Rao (1991) provided a brief text description based on two specimens (body length 300–320 μm; no sex specified) collected from medium coralline sand near the mid-water level of lagoon beaches on Kavaratti and Agatti, Lakshadweep ( India). He claimed that his material showed minor variations with Kunz’s (1937) description in the armature of the body appendages, in particular the shape of the modified setae on P1 exp-3 and the distal endopod segment of P2 and P4. Rao (1991) also stated that the antennary exopod carried two setae, a unique character within the Arenopontiidae (see also Arlt 1983: Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 ). Without any illustrations given, the authenticity of this record cannot be confirmed.
