gen. nov.

Pseudoaclisina n.gen.

Type species. Aclisina turgida Yoo, 1988: 244 , figs 80-81.

Definition. Shell minute, with tall-spired convex whorls; protoconch smooth, deviated; teleoconch covered by numerous spiral threads; anomphalous.

Geological age. Middle to late Tournaisian.

Etymology. Derived from Genus Aclisina a genus of similar shape.

Remarks. The species turgida was originally placed in Aclisina (Y00, 1988). A further examination of A. turgida indicates that it has a deviated protoconch. No selenizone or notch exists. The species A. turgida is here transferred from Aclisina to Pseudoaclisina n.gen.

Australian Carboniferous species. Pseudoaclisina microspirulata n.sp., from 'Marohn'; Pseudoaclisina turgida (Yoo), 1988 from 'Marohn'.
