CONTEXT AND CONTENT. Order Rodentia View in CoL , suborder
Myomorpha, family Cricetidae , subfamily Arvicolinae . Synaptomys contains two living species in two subgenera, with S. cooperi in the subgenus Synaptomys and S. borealis in the subgenus Mictomys . Their area of sympatry (northwestern Minnesota and southeastern Manitoba and, in eastern North America, northern New Hampshire, Maine, and across parts of Canada east of Manitoba — Hall 1981) is poorly understood.
