( Figs. 14 View FIGURE 1 2 View FIGURES 3 4 )
Holotype female. FRENCH GUIANA, no date ( AMNH). FRENCH GUIANA. Cayenne: Montsinery , Piste Risque tout PK 9 , 18X1987, Exp. H de Toulgoë, B. et J. Lalanne Cassou, J. Navatte col, 1 male ( MNHN).
Male 13.0 long. Antennal segment I somewhat longer than II, segment III almost 3 times longer than II and subequal to IV, segment V subequal to III. Rostrum reaching fourth visible abdominal sternite, segment II, the longest reaching metacoxae, segment IV shorter than III and subequal to I. Tergite VII with a wide membranous band on distal margin, without a median process. Abdominal ventral side darkcastaneous with yellow spots close to lateral margin. Body length: 13.0; abdominal width: 10.0; head length: 3.0; head width: 3.5; pronotal width: 9.0.
Pygophore subtriangular, widely open dorsoposteriorly. Dorsal rim (dr) projected posteriorly at middle third, slightly concave over proctiger. Lateral process of dorsal rim (lpdr) small. Posterolateral angle processes (plap) subtriangular, flat, divergent. Ventral rim developed as a process (vrlp) on each lateral angle, almost as long as posterolateral angle processes, not fused with them. A mesial concavity and some transversal furrows distally on ventral surface of pygophore. Paramere (pa) hammerlike, posteroventrally directed. Proctiger (pr) subtriangular, covered by setae on ventral edge and posterior face. Posterior face strongly declivent with low lateral carina.
Comments: The structure of the male genitalia suggests Parantiteuchus is close to Antiteuchus . Posterolateral angles processes not fused, proctiger dorsally membranous, and the presence of lateral processes of the dorsal rim are characters shared by both genera. Parantiteuchus can be distinguished from Antiteuchus by the hammerlike parameres, ventral rim with lateral processes, and middle third of dorsal rim projecting posteriorly. In Antiteuchus the parameres are usually lobate, the ventral rim lacks lateral processes, and the middle third of dorsal rim is strongly concave. Ruckes (1962) allied both genera because their similar facies.
