Bioramix (Leipopleura) nigra sp. nov.

( Figs 16 View FIGURES 15–16 , 102–103 View FIGURES 98–121 , 260 View FIGURES 256–261 )

Description. Body black, shining, antennae, palpi and tarsi black-brown.

Male ( Figs 16 View FIGURES 15–16 , 102–103 View FIGURES 98–121 , 260 View FIGURES 256–261 ). Head. Anterior margin of epistome straight, surface with dense and moderately coarse punctures. Frons and genae weakly convex, surface with dense and moderately coarse punctures. Dorsal surface of head convex, with dense and moderately coarse punctures. Eyes transverse, anterior margin shallowly emarginate. Antennae ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : A) not reaching pronotal base, antennomeres II–VIII short cylindrical and thicker at apex, IX–X nearly spherical, XI sharped-oval. Length (width) ratio of antennomeres II–XI 16 (14): 31 (14): 20 (14): 17 (14): 20 (13): 22 (16): 24 (19): 20 (21): 20 (21): 27 (23).

Prothorax. Pronotum ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : B) transverse and convex, 1.7 times as wide as long and 2.2 times as wide as head. Lateral sides widest anterior to base, arcuately narrowing toward base and apex. Ratio of width at anterior margin to widest part and base 23: 39: 36. Anterior margin weakly emarginate, posterior one straight. Anterior and posterior angles obtuse. Anterior and posterior margins edged laterally, entire lateral margins edged. Dorsal surface with sparse and fine punctures on disc, extremely dense and fine at sides. Lateral sides very narrowly depressed along lateral margins. Prothoracic hypomera with longitudinal wrinkles and sparse yellow setae. Prosternum anterior to procoxae with yellow setae, prosternal process sharply sloping behind procoxae, apex not projecting beyond level of procoxae in lateral view.

Pterothorax. Elytra elongate-oval and convex, 1.2 times as long as wide and 1.1 times as wide as pronotum, base slightly wider than pronotum and widest at base. Surface with indistinct sparse and fine punctures, dense wrinkles. Lateral margins of elytra not reaching sutural angle, interrupted anterior to apex of elytra, visible at middle in dorsal view.

Abdomen with dense yellow setae, ventrites 1–2 flattened at middle.

Legs. Profemora stout, with sparse punctures and yellow setae. Protibiae ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : D) gradually widened toward apex, underside concave at apex, apical margin foliate extended, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Protarsi ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : C) narrower than apex of protibiae. Meso- and metafemora longer than profemora. Mesotibiae ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : E) gradually widened toward apex, with rufous thick setae, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Mesotarsi ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : F) narrower than apex of mesotibiae. Metatibiae ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : G) straight, with rufous thick setae, inner side with dense yellow hairbrush from middle to apex. Length (width) ratio of pro-, meso- and metafemora 17 (5): 20 (6): 23 (7), that of corresponding tibiae 17 (8): 17 (5): 23 (5), and protarsi 17 (19): 25 (42): 24 (42): 14 (31): 40 (15), mesotarsi 29 (20): 26 (38): 22 (32): 17 (19): 46 (17), metatarsi ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : H) 57 (19): 34 (19): 23 (18): 58 (18).

Aedeagus ( Figs 16 View FIGURES 15–16 : I–J, 102–103) 2.6 mm long and 0.7 mm wide. Parameres 0.9 mm long and 0.5 mm wide, widest at base and narrowing toward apex, lateral sides weakly emarginate posterior to apex in dorsal view, distal part curved dorsally in lateral view.

Measurements. Body length: ♂ 7.8 mm and width: ♂ 4.4 mm.

Type material. Holotype: ♂ ( MHBU), CHINA: Xizang: Sumzom Town, Bomê County, 3320 m, 14.VII.2008, Guo-Dong Ren et al. leg.

Distribution. China: Xizang.

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to Bioramix (Leipopleura) reinigi ( Kaszab, 1940) , but can be distinguished from the latter by the following characters (based on male): (1) pronotal punctures much denser and finer at sides (sparser and coarser in B. reinigi ); (2) elytral surface without metallic sheen, lateral margins visible at middle (with, at base in B. reinigi ).

Etymology. This species name is derived from its black body.
