Off Three Kings Islands , north of New Zealand (34 ◦ 9 ′ S, 172 ◦ 8 ′ E).

Western Australia. 1 specimen, AM P.79307, reef close to shore, Champion Bay, Geraldton (28 ◦ 45 ′ 52.8 ′′ S, 114 ◦ 36 ′ 49.8 ′′ E), 0.5 m, kelp Ecklonia radiata on shallow rocky reef at low tide, collected by hand, 28 November 2000, coll. R . A. Peart ( WA 719 ) ; 7 specimens, AM P.79855, Esperance Harbour (33 ◦ 52 ′ S, 121 ◦ 54 ′ E), pylon scrapings, 17 March 2002, coll. Western Australian Museum party ( WAES IH TJD Qual) .
