Remarks: Asiagomphus pacificus is significantly larger and slightly bulkier species than A. hainanensis Chao and its males feature a uniformly straight occipital margin without any small spines. Its antehumeral stripe may be complete or interrupted in the middle as illustrated in Fig. 2b and its labrum is entirely black ( Fig. 2a). The female occipital margin may also be uniformly straight or feature a very small v-shaped notch in the centre which is more noticeable when viewed dorsally ( Figs. 2c–d). Asiagomphus hainanensis has a pair of yellow baso-lateral spots on the labrum and the male has a slightly curved occipital margin beset with small spines ( Fig. 2e) and the upper metakatepisternum is yellow ( Fig. 2f). Topotypical female A. hainanensis , as pointed out by Wilson & Reels (2001), has an occiptal margin which is arched, beset with small spines and has a prominent central notch ( Figs. 2g –h).
Distribution: China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Hunan, Taiwan & Zhejiang).
