Ephutomma Ashmead 1899: 52 , type species: Mutilla incerta Radoszkowski 1877 , currently synonym of Ephutomma turcestanica (Dalla Torre 1897) , by original designation.
Eremomyrme Suárez 1965b: 51 , type species Mutilla incerta Radoszkowski 1877 , currently synonym of Ephutomma turcestanica (Dalla Torre 1897) , by original designation. Synonymized by Lelej & Kabakov 1980: 193.
Fifteen species of Ephutomma occur in the Palaearctic and two (including this new one) occur in the Oriental region ( Lelej 2002, 2005). The second Oriental species E. fletcheri (Turner 1911) occurs in Sri Lanka, and is only known from the female ( Lelej 2005). The genus is recorded for the first time from Pakistan and Nepal, and the single species discovered there is described below as new. The genus Ephutomma is placed in the subfamily Mutillinae , tribe Smicromyrmini.
