Anthidium (Anthidium) tasitiense Niu & Zhu View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Fig. 32 View FIGURE 32 a–h, Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 a–h, male)

Diagnosis: T7 ( Fig. 33c View FIGURE 33 ), clypeus ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ) and maculations on terga ( Fig. 33b View FIGURE 33 ) of the new species is similar to those of A. (A.) punctatum Latreille, 1809 , but the new species can be distinguished from A. (A.) punctatum Latreille, 1809 by the spiculum of S8 not elongate, slightly narrower than disc ( Fig. 33f View FIGURE 33 ) and anterior surface of antennal scape yellow ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ).

Description: Male. BL = 8.5–10.3 mm ( Fig. 32a View FIGURE 32 ); head broader than long, HW: HL = 63: 55 ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ); gena slightly narrower than eye, GW: EW = 15: 17. Clypeus broader than long, with wide impunctate longitudinal midline ( Fig. 32d View FIGURE 32 ); mandible with three teeth, apical one sharp and longest, second one and third one about half long as the apical one; omaular carina absent; pronotal lobe rounded anteriorly; scutellum rounded posterolaterally, without tooth, not greatly overhanging metanotum and propodeum ( Fig. 32c View FIGURE 32 ); propodeum without fovea behind spiracle ( Fig. 32e View FIGURE 32 ); fore wing with two submarginal cells, the cells nearly equal in length, second recurrent vein meets distal to second submarginal crossvein; cu-v vein of hind wing oblique, longer than half than second abscissa of M+Cu ( Fig. 32h View FIGURE 32 ); arolia absent ( Fig. 32f View FIGURE 32 ); S7 inner distal margin elongate, forming a projection rounded apically ( Fig. 33e View FIGURE 33 ); spiculum of S8 not elongate, slightly narrower than disc, both lateral margin with a projection respectively, emarginate medially, apical process of S8 single, broadly rounded apically ( Fig. 33f View FIGURE 33 ); T6 with distinct long and sharp lateral spine ( Fig. 33c View FIGURE 33 ); T7 with broad rounded lateral spine, without submedian spine ( Fig. 33c View FIGURE 33 , Fig. 33d View FIGURE 33 ), the median spine of T7 acute triangular or subrectangular ( Fig. 33c View FIGURE 33 , Fig. 33d View FIGURE 33 ); genitalia respectively shown in Fig. 33g View FIGURE 33 (in dorsal view) and Fig. 33h View FIGURE 33 (in lateral view). Metasomal terga with obvious yellow maculations, T1 with two light yellow lateral spots, T2–T7 with light yellow bands, bands not interrupted medially, and the bands on T3–T7 with shallow V-shaped forward notches ( Fig. 33b View FIGURE 33 ). Integument black, except light yellow on anterior surface of antennal scape ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 , Fig. 32 View FIGURE 32 c-1), dark blackish brown on anterior surface of F3–F11 ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ), clypeus ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ), lower part of paraocular area ( Fig. 32d View FIGURE 32 ), outer surface of mandible except teeth ( Fig. 32d View FIGURE 32 ), one small marking on vertex near apex of eye respectively ( Fig. 32c View FIGURE 32 ) or band on vertex ( Fig. 32 View FIGURE 32 c-1), lateral margin of scutum ( Fig. 33a View FIGURE 33 ) or anterior lateral margin and lateral margin of scutum ( Fig. 33 View FIGURE 33 a-1), axilla ( Fig. 33a View FIGURE 33 ), posterior lateral margin of scutellum ( Fig. 33a View FIGURE 33 ), tegula except central part ( Fig. 33a View FIGURE 33 ), metasomal terga maculations ( Fig. 33b View FIGURE 33 ), outer surface of tibiae, outer surface of basitarsi and distitarsi; yellowish-brown on central part of tegula ( Fig. 33a View FIGURE 33 ) and outer surface of mediotarsi. Fore wing hyaline, veins and stigma dark brownish ( Fig. 32g View FIGURE 32 ). Lower part of clypeus, both lateral sides of antennal scape, frons, lower part of gena, and mesepisternum covered with long and dense white pubescence ( Fig. 32a View FIGURE 32 , Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ); vertex, scutum and scutellum covered with paler yellowish-white pubescence ( Fig. 32b View FIGURE 32 ).
