The guerinii View in CoL -group
Diagnostic characters. This group is defined by having forewing ground color grey to fuscous, and having a dirtywhite or yellow antemedian fascia and two or three distal streaks. The male genitalia are characterized by the small and tongue-shaped uncus (approximately 1/4 length and 1/4̄1/3 width of tegumen), the short gnathos, the slender valva with well-developed sacculus. In addition, the aedeagus is generally short and stout, and bears a sclerite exceeding apex. The female genitalia are characterized by the posteriorly narrowed tergum VIII, the broad collarlike colliculum and the signum with a hook- or thumb-shaped process.
Remarks. This species group is named after the type species P. guerinii ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 65 ). The members of the group show low genetic divergence compared to other groups and they are also highly similar to each other morphologically.
