Body small; hypodermic giant nuclei median or lateral. Proboscis short, cylindrical, with 14– 22 longitudinal rows of 3–4 hooks per row; boundary between root and thorn not sharply marked. Proboscis receptacle with thin single wall. Lemnisci longer or shorter than proboscis receptacle. Testes contiguous, in middle body third. Cement gland syncytial, with16 nuclei. Parasites of freshwater fishes and amphibians.
