Diagnosis:— Dolichandra cynanchoides can be recognized by the branchlets light purple(vs. green in other Dolichandra species), and by the reflexed corolla lobes and stipitate ovary (vs. straight corolla lobes and sessile ovary in other Dolichandra species).

Reproductive Period:— Flowering from December to February, fruiting in February.

Distribution and Habitat:— It occurs in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Cultivated worldwide ( Lohmann 2010, Lohmann & Taylor 2014, Fonseca et al. 2017). Within the study area, it was registered in Capanema, Foz do Iguaçu, Lindoeste, and in the PARNA Iguazú , mainly on rivers’ banks. Collected for the first time since 1966 (Lindeman 3476) in the PARNA Iguaçu (Caxambu 9114).
