2008 Pseudocandona abei n. sp. —Smith & Janz: 2909–2912, Figs 26a–b, 27, 28.

Material examined. Two females from the runoff of a large spring forming a stream near the Echi River, Shiga Prefecture, N35º 12’ 13.4”, E136º 10’ 10.5”, 12 January 2006. One female from coarse angular sand in the riverbed of the Myo-odani River, Katsuragawabomura-cho, Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, N35º 14’ 39.0”, E135º 52’ 26.4”, 4 October 2007. One female from a hole dug into a river bar consisting of cobbles, pebbles, gravel, coarse sand and mud of the Daido River, near the junction with the Seta River, Shiga Prefecture, N34º 56’ 03.8”, E135º 54’ 53.4”, 27 September 2009. All material collected by the author.

Remarks. This species was previously reported at the edge of Lake Biwa on a willow tree root mat, a stream in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, and from streams in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture ( Smith and Janz 2008).
