Material examined. One immature adult male from an interstitial sample taken from the mouth of the Tsuchi River, Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, N35º 20’ 44.5”, E136º 16’ 38.3”, 7 October 2009. Collected by Tom Karanovic.

Remarks. Previously this species has been found from poorly sorted substrates at three localities in Lake Biwa ( Smith & Janz 2008). This is the first report of this species from an interstitial habitat.
