(1999): (1) maxillary teeth decrease in size posteriorly; (2) serrations on marginal teeth absent; (3) base of supratemporal process of jugal narrow and rod-like; (4) zygomatic arch bowed dorsally; (5) coronoid eminence formed by dentary and surangular present; (6) mandibular fenestra present.
Fröbisch (2007), Fröbisch & Reisz (2008): (1) maxillary canine absent; (2) serrations on marginal teeth absent; (3) zygomatic process of squamosal narrow and rod-like; (4) zygomatic arch displaced dorsally, well above tooth row, basicranium, and jaw articulation; (5) mandibular fenestra present and well developed.
