Leucophenga sorii Kang, Lee & Bhang, 1965: 97 View in CoL ; Okada, 1990: 558; Lee, 1993: 41; Papp, 2000: 253; Bächli et al. 2002: 305.

Diagnosis. This species belongs to the sorii group, and differs from the other species of the genus Leucophenga in having the Orb 2 much shorter than Orb 3 ( Fig. 5J View FIGURE 5 ); wing lacking peg-like spinule on ventral surface of costal vein ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ); abdominal tergites (especially 3rd to 5th ones) prolonged ( Fig. 9F View FIGURE 9 ); paramere nearly trapezoidal ( Fig. 20C View FIGURE 20 ); aedeagus basally slender, posterodorsally expanded and wrinkled ( Fig. 20D View FIGURE 20 ).

Description. Ocellar triangle brownish, with ca. 2 setae above ocellar setae. Frons dark yellow ( Fig. 4J View FIGURE 4 ). Pedicel yellow ( Fig. 4J View FIGURE 4 ); first flagellomere yellowish ( Fig. 4J View FIGURE 4 ). Clypeus entirely yellow. Palpus yellowish ( Fig. 4J View FIGURE 4 ). Mesonotum mostly dark yellow ( Fig. 4K View FIGURE 4 ). Postpronotal lobe yellow ( Fig. 4L View FIGURE 4 ). Acrostichal setulae in ca. 8–10 irregular rows ( Fig. 4K View FIGURE 4 ). Scutellum entirely dark yellow ( Fig. 4K View FIGURE 4 ). Pleura, katepisternum, and mesopleuron mostly yellow ( Fig. 4L View FIGURE 4 ). Wing ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ): entirely hyaline; R 4+5 and M 1 slightly convergent distally; halter mostly yellowish ( Fig. 4K View FIGURE 4 ). Abdominal tergites mostly yellow, 2nd tergite slightly brownish sublaterally and posteriorly, 3rd and 4th tergites slightly brownish medially and posteriorly ( Fig. 9F View FIGURE 9 ). Male terminalia: Epandrium pubescent, with ca. 16 setae near posterior and ventral margins per side ( Fig. 20A View FIGURE 20 ). Cercus pubescent ( Fig. 20A View FIGURE 20 ). Surstylus lacking pubescence ( Fig. 20A View FIGURE 20 ). Paramere acute apically, with ca. 4 sensilla submedially and ca. 3 ones distally ( Fig. 20C View FIGURE 20 ).
