Melichar, 1903: 51; Distant, 1906: 285; Melichar, 1914: 123; Fennah, 1982: 634. Type species: Paruzelia psyllomorpha Melichar, 1903 , by monotypy.
Combined with the tribal characters given above, the genus can be recognized by the following characters: vertex projecting beyond eyes in dorsal view; frons with fine erected hairs; pronotum crescent-shaped; tegmina broad, ratio LTg/BTg less than 2.2; tegmina with brown-black and red markings; hind wings with brown-black transverse band; length around 6 mm.
