Description (Male). Color. Head dark brown; antenna, thorax, abdomen and hypopygium brown; palpus and legs yellowish-brown; wing fumose. Head ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 C, D). Eye bridge with 3 rows of facets. Prefrons with 18–33 setae. Clypeus bare. Palpus three-segmented, basal segment with 4 setae; 2nd segment with 15–20 setae; 3rd segment with 10–14 setae. Length/width of 4th flagellomere: 2.81–3.46. Thorax. Anterior pronotum with 5–10 setae, episternum 1 with 5–8 setae. Wings ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 C). Wing length 2.91–3.67 mm, width/length: 0.35–0.37. c/w: 0.42–0.53. R1/R: 0.73–0.86. Y/X: 1.69–1.88. Y bare, stM with 4–6 setae, M and Cu with numerous setae. Legs. Fore tibia with a comb of 9–10 setae ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 E). Length of spur/width of foretibia 1.84–2.06. Length of femur/length of metatarsus: foreleg 0.76–0.80. Length of metatarsus/length of tibia: foreleg 0.76–0.80, hind leg 0.54–0.62. Length of hind tibia/length of thorax 1.95–2.19. Fore tibia with 1 dorsal, 8–11 ventral, 2–18 prolateral and 10–19 retrolateral spinose setae. Tarsal claws with large teeth. Hypopygium ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 A, B). Gonocoxite slightly longer than gonostylus. Ventral setosity of gonocoxite slightly dense, 2 setae at the apicoventral corner greatly elongated, intercoxal area of hypopygium bare. Gonostylus slightly curved, eventually narrowed towards apex, with impression on apicomesial part; setosity dense at apex, with 7–9 sharp megasetae uneven in size scattered in the impression. Tegmen wider than long. Sternite 10 with 2 setae on each half. N = 6 for all measurements.

Distribution. China ( Taiwan , Zhejiang, Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 ).

Remarks. The new species and D. scrobiculata sp. nov. ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 , 5 View FIGURE 5 ) are similar to D. megumiae and D. ninae in having an apicomesial impression on the gonostylus. However, this species differs from the other three species by having sharp megasetae uneven in size, and the intercoxal area of the hypopygium bare. Dolichosciara scrobiculata is most similar to D. ninae by the form of the gonostylus, but differs in the intercoxal lobe of hypopygium absent, while having a large intercoxal lobe of hypopygium in D. ninae , and D. scrobiculata differs from the other two species by having more than 10 megasetae, which are subequal in size. Dolichosciara megumiae may be distinguished by the apex of gonostylus nearly sharp, bearing thickened setae, and megasetae located subapically on gonostylus. In addition, the specimen of D. scrobiculata from Guizhou province is darker and much larger (wing length 4.30 mm).

Etymology. This species is named after its sharp megasetae on the gonostylus, from the Latin adjective oxyacanthus, meaning sharp thorn.
