Gamasiphoides Womersley View in CoL (21 described species)
Movable and fixed cheliceral digits with 3–4 and 5–8 teeth, respectively. Epistome with an anteromedian extension wider at base, usually flanked by one or more pairs of large anterolateral spines, shorter than anteromedian extension. Seta h 3 about in longitudinal line with h 1 and slightly posterior (anterior in G. lootsi ) and mediad to h 2. Idiosoma suboval, 400–1000 µm long and 210–620 µm wide at widest level. Podonotal and opisthonotal shields fused, forming holonotal shield. Dorsal idiosomal setae aciculate or distally pilose. Podonotal region of dorsum with 20–24 pairs of setae, of which 20–24 pairs on podonotal shield and 0–2 pairs on soft integument along lateral margins of podonotal shield. Opisthonotal region with 13–39 pairs of setae, of which 12– 33 pairs on opisthonotal shield and 0–7 pair on soft integument along lateral margins of opisthonotal shield. Seta j 1 not on prominent protuberance, shorter or as long as r 3 and shorter than Z 5 (longer in G. lootsi ). Holonotal and ventrianal shields fused or not. Two pairs of presternal platelets present. Sternal shield not fused or fused only by a narrow strip to endopodal shield near coxa IV; seta st 3 mediad to imaginary line between st 1, st 2 and st 4 or setae st 1 and st 3 mediad to imaginary line between st 2 and st 4, with st 3 posterior to st 2. Opisthogaster with 0–4 platelets between genital and ventrianal shields; with 5–8 pairs of setae on ventrianal shield and 0–1 pair on soft integument around ventrianal shield; post-anal seta longer, as long as or shorter than para-anal seta. Peritreme with straight or smoothly curved margins, extending anteriorly to level between anterior margin of coxa II and coxa I. Peritrematal shield fused posteriorly to exopodal shield near coxa IV, with connection behind stigma wider than peritreme. Exopodal shields near coxae II–III–III divided at median level of coxa III. With 0–1 pair of rounded metapodal platelets. All legs with pretarsi. Genua I, III and IV and tibia IV with 13, 8–9, 9–10 and 10 setae, respectively.
