Bomis L. Koch, 1874: 527 View in CoL , pl. 40, figs 4a–c.

Type species. Bomis larvata L. Koch, 1874 , by monotypy.

Diagnosis. Prosoma highly convex and rugose with granulations and rounded cavities. Eye lenses and eye tubercles small, ALE, PLE and PME equally spaced, closer among themselves than to AME. Clypeus highly abrupt and very long, ratio of clypeus length to the distance between AME-AME higher than 1.5 in females and 1.9 in males. Labium triangular and acute. Sternum heart-shaped with wide posterior part (up to 1/3 width of the sternum). Labium is triangular. Chelicerae with peg-like setae near fangs. Spineless legs with patellae as long as metatarsi and tarsi. Epigyne with two conical protuberances; male palp with short embolus which is less than half the length of tegulum, palpal tibia without apophyses.

Description. Small thomisids (maximum length of female 3.5, male 2.5), poorly haired with sparse, very short, tiny setae on the whole body. Prosoma convex and rugose with granulations and numerous small tubercles and rounded and small cavities on dorsal part. Ratio of the distance between outermost lateral eyes and width of prosoma (x/y ratio) 0.65–0.8. Massive pedipalps in both sexes without dense hairs or spines on top. Short and thick legs (I and II nearly equal in length and III the shortest) are spineless with short, not very numerous setae; tibiae proximally with four different types of setae. Chelicerae with small and short fangs and peg-like setae near fangs, without teeth on pro- or retromarginal surfaces. Opisthosoma plano-concave with highly wrinkled integument covered by tiny spiniform setae, its lateral and posterior parts often with folds. Small epigyne with genital orifices on top of each conical protuberance; vulva with short insemination ducts and oval or spherical, sack-like spermathecae. Male palp with bean-shaped or spherical tegulum; embolus short and straight.
