Type material. Holotype male ( PSUNHM). Cambodia: Siem Reap Province, O Ta Khok, Phnom Kulen , 13°33’38”N, 104°07’43”E, ca. 260 m a.s.l., 17.vi.2022, leg. Pongsak Laudee. GoogleMaps Paratypes. Same data as holotype, 1 male ( CHM) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The species is named for Mr. Vorawut Mongkondechsawat.

Description. Length of each male forewing 4.5 mm (N = 2); specimens in alcohol with head and thorax brown, abdomen yellowish.

Male genitalia ( Figs 3A–3D View FIGURES 3 ). Segment IX in lateral view sac-like ventrally, subdorsal part fused with segment X, anterior margin convex, posterior margin deeply incised, ventral margin round ( Fig. 1A View FIGURES 1 ); nearly hemispherical and truncate apically in ventral view ( Fig. 3C View FIGURES 3 ). Setose preanal appendages semi-ellipsoidal in dorsal view and fused with tergum X ( Figs 3A View FIGURES 3 ). Segment X with spiny apicodorsal process and pair of large apicolateral processes apically acute in lateral view; trapezoidal basally with spiny circular apicodorsal plate and with pair of apicolateral processes with round apices in dorsal view ( Fig. 2B View FIGURES 2 ). In lateral view, inferior appendages each with two branches; lower branch crescentiform, posterior margin with tooth-like seta-bearing spines, upper part somewhat triangular; in ventral view, triangular with numerous setae, pointed apex ( Fig. 3C View FIGURES 3 ). Phallus tubular, curved downward subbasally in lateral view; phallobase crescentiform; parameres slender and long, recurved downward; phallicata tubular, curved downward, apex round ( Fig. 3D View FIGURES 3 ).

Diagnosis. The new species is in the group which includes Setodes akrura , S. abhirakta , S. nausithoos , and Setodes xangthevadaensis n. sp.. The genitalia of Setodes mongkondechsawati n. sp. are most similar to Setodes xangthevadaensis n. sp., but these can be easily distinguished by the dorsal view of the apicodorsal process of segment X, which is circular in Setodes mongkondechsawati n. sp. while the apicodorsal process in Setodes xangthevadaensis n. sp. is trifurcate.
