New records

Previously recorded from Ecuador ( Thomas 2002a). Herein, two pairs of C. spectabilis collected in Amazonas represent the first state and country record of this species in Brazil.

Description of male aedeagus ( Figure 2 View Figure 2 (f)). Tegmen subquadrate at base; apex moderately setose; apical angles glabrous. Parameres large, transverse, with lateral margins rounded and bearing a long apical seta; apexes glabrous, narrowly rounded and closely separated from each other, conjunctly triangular; surface covered with short basal setae.

Description of female. As hypothesised by Thomas (2002a), the female of C. spectabilis is quite similar to the male except for having an unmodified antennal scape and pedicel. Females can be easily associated with males by the 1.4 mm body length and 0.5 mm body width at mid-elytra, as well as the light brown head and pronotum which contrast strongly with the dark brown to piceous elytra.
