Falsocaenia diversecostata Pic, 1931: 94 .

Type material. Syntype, female, ‘ Bolivia: Yungas‘ ( DEIC).

Diagnosis. Close to F. apicicorne , differs in yellow longitudinal stripes in elytral 1/5–2/5.

Redescription. Body dark brown, only narrow lateral sides of pronotum, longitudinal stripes in anterior half of elytra, transverse median band on elytra, base of maxillary palpomere 2 and trochanters yellow ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 7 – 12 ). Eyes medium-sized, distance between eyes 1.4x longer than maximal eye diameter. Terminal palpomeres of maxillary and labial palpi slightly pointed. Pronotum ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 16 – 30 ) 1.5x basally wider than long medially. Elytra 3.3x longer than humeral width, each elytron slightly widened to distal third. Female genitalia with mediobasal projection of the coxites directed medially ( Fig. 73 View FIGURES 69 – 76 ). Body length: 8.2 mm, humeral width: 2.2 mm.

Remark. Syntype with antennomeres 3–11 of both antennae missing.
