TYPE LOCALITY: Bolivia, near Yungas, upper Rio Beni .
DISTRIBUTION: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and Peru.
SYNONYMS: argentinius Thomas, 1921; boliviensis Osgood, 1921; cabrerai Moojen, 1958; cuscinus Thomas, 1902; irroratus (Gray, 1867); leucogaster (J. A. Allen, 1915); ochrescens Thomas, 1914.
