TYPE SPECIES: Sciurus rafflesii Vigors and Horsfield, 1828 (= Sciurus prevostii Desmarest, 1822 ).
SYNONYMS: Baginia Gray, 1867 ; Erythrosciurus Gray, 1867 ; Hessonoglyphotes Moore, 1959 ; Heterosciurus Trouessart, 1880 ; Tomeutes Thomas, 1915 .
COMMENTS: Tribe Callosciurini ( Moore, 1959) . Formerly included Sundasciurus and Prosciurillus (in part; see Moore, 1958) and Tamiops ( Moore and Tate, 1965) . See also Corbet and Hill (1992) who employed Callosciurus in the more inclusive sense. Reviewed in part by Chakraborty (1985).
