TYPE LOCALITY: "lower Columbia River, near lower mouth of Willamette River, [Multnomah Co.,] Oregfon]." [ USA] .
DISTRIBUTION: SW British Columbia ( Canada), W Washington and Oregon to the Rogue River ( USA).
SYNONYMS: cooperi Baird, 1855 ; hindei Gray, 1842; littoralis Elliot, 1903.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Neotamias . Formerly included ochrogenys , siskiyou and senex ; see comments under those species.
