TYPE LOCALITY: "central and Northern regions of Nipâl" [ Nepal] .

DISTRIBUTION: Nepal and Assam ( India) to Sichuan, Yunnan, and Hainan ( China) and Indochina.

SYNONYMS: chianfengensis Wang and Lu, 1966; leachii ( Gray, 1837); orinus (G. Allen, 1940); turnbulli (Gray, 1838).
