Type species. Sinoporus tianmingyii Zhao & Jia, 2021: 1048 , by present designation.

Etymology. The generic name is a combination of “ Sino -” from Latin “ Sinae ” ( China) and “- dessus ” from Bidessus ( type genus of the tribe Bidessini ). The gender of the name is masculine.
