1. Acianthera angustifolia (Lindl.) Luer (2007: 118) . Pleurothallis angustifolia Lindley (1836a: 7 sub Tab. 1797). Type:— MEXICO. Veracruz: Prope Xalapa, 1829 − 1830, Schiede & Deppe s.n. (holotype K, isotypes BR[82681]! W!).

Pleurothallis carioi Schlechter (1918a: 205) . Type :— Guatemala. Chilion prope Mazatenango, August 1866, Bernoulli & Cario 496 (holotype B†; because this specimen was destroyed during World War II, it is necessary to designate here the following specimen as neotype: GUATEMALA. Chichou f. Majato, 17 August 1867, Bernoulli & Cario 458, K[583978]! [ Fig. 8 ]).

Distribution:— Mexico (Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas [ Fig. 3 ]), Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
