Cryptophoranthus pectinatus Schlechter (1923: 277) . Pleurothallis helleriana Williams (1964: 62) replacement name for Cryptophoranthus pectinatus , not Pleurothallis pectinata Lindley (1839: 29) . Type:— COSTA RICA. “Umgebung von San Ramon”, January 1921, Acosta s.n. (holotype B†; destroyed during World War II). Distribution:— Mexico (Veracruz [ Fig. 6 ]), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Suriname, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Martinique.

Specimen:— MEXICO. Veracruz: Cosautlán de Carvajal, Flores-Palacios s.n. (XAL, photo!).
