Convexocoleus rileyi Shin , new species ( Figs. 1–6 View Figs , 14, 17, 20 View Figs )

Diagnosis. As for the genus (see above).

Description. Male, length 9.9 mm, width 9.9 mm; female, length 11.0 mm, width 10.0 mm. Coloration mainly black; anterolateral and posterolateral

margins of pronotum orange to red; sub-basal, middle, and subapical regions of elytral explanate margins orange; sub-basal, postmedian, and subapical areas of disc also orange to red; legs ( Figs. 3, 6 View Figs , 17 View Figs ) black with pale brown setae; abdomen ( Figs. 3, 6 View Figs ) black with sublateral brown depressions on ventrites II–V.

Antennomere ( Fig. 14 View Figs ) IV slender, slightly broader apically; antennomere V about 0.8 times as long as antennomere IV, broader apically; antennomeres VI–VIII each as long as antennomere V, broader than antennomere V; antennomeres IX–X quadrate, as long as antennomere V; antennomere XI slightly shorter than antennomere III. Pronotum ( Figs. 1, 4 View Figs ) hemispherical with disc and anterior margin slightly convex; lateral margin rounded, smoothly curved without angle at posterolateral margin; explanate margin broader posteriorly; basal line broadly rounded; disc distinctly delimited by black coloration and depression between disc and margin; discal surface smooth; lateral marginal area finely and sparsely punctate; ventral surface of anterior margin rugose ( Fig. 23 View Fig ). Prosternum ( Figs. 3, 6 View Figs , 20 View Figs ) with surface irregularly wrinkled; prosternal process slightly swollen, with carved mark on surface. Tarsomere I ( Figs. 1, 6 View Figs ) hemispherical; tarsomere II heart-shaped, 2 times as long as tarsomere I; tarsomere III bilobed, as long as broad, 2.5 times as long as tarsomere I; tarsomere IV as long as tarsomere III, 2.5 times as long as tarsomere I.

Type Material. H o l o t y p e (m a l e), HAITI: Dept. Grand’ Anse: Jeremie , 0.5 km West of summit of Pic Macaya, 2,300 m, I-27-1985, C. Fastie (deposited in TAMU, TAMU-ENTO x0996649). Paratype (female) , HAITI: Dept. Sud: Morne Formond N. slope, 1,950 m, I-5-1983, C.A. Woods et al. (deposited in FSCA) .

Etymology. The specific epithet is a patronym honoring Mr. Edward G. Riley, entomology collection manager at Texas A&M University and specialist on the Chrysomelidae . He was the first to notice the distinctiveness of the unusual specimen, designated herein as holotype, from the TAMU collection.
