Type :— INDIA. Uttaranchal state, Uttarkashi district , Western Himalaya, valley of upper Bhagirathi River, between Choibasa and Bhojbasa. 3700–3850 m a.s.l., 30°54′ N 79°03′ E, 2 October 2003, Pimenov & Kljuykov 16 (holotype: MW barcode MW0593935!; GoogleMaps isotypes: LE!, B!) GoogleMaps .
Distribution and ecology:— The species is known only from the type locality in northwest India ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 ). The plant grows at comparatively gentle, stony slopes and gravel valley terraces, insparse petrophyton among Spiraea arcuata , Lonicera rupicola , Juniperus squarrosa and Rosa spp. or shrubs at elevations of 3600–3850 m a.s.l.
