Conicera quadrata Mostovski et Disney, 2003: 46 View in CoL (♂, Russia: Primorskii krai).
Description. Male. Body length 1.2 mm. Frons dark brown. Supra-antennal setae and lower fronto-orbital setae present. Lower interfrontal setae shorter than upper interfrontal setae and the distance between each other equaled to that between upper interfrontal setae. First flagellomere brown, 0.18 mm long, with an aspect ratio of 2:1; arista 0.30 mm long, 1.67 times as long as that of first flagellomere. Palpus dark brown, with short setae apically.
Thorax dark brown. Mid and hind legs brown, fore leg light brown. Fore tibia with 11 small near-dorsal setulae, the uppermost being longer than the rest. Mid femur without sense-organ. Wing ( Fig. 29J View FIGURES 29 ) length 0.94 mm. Costal index 0.41, costal ratio 1.65:1, costal setulae length 0.030 –0.034 mm. Vein Rs with basisetula. Veins yellowish brown, except A 1 +CuA 2 whitish yellow. Membrane light yellow. Halter brown.
Abdominal tergites brown. Terminalia ( Figs. 19A–C View FIGURES 19 ) brown. Left surstylus ( Fig. 19B View FIGURES 19 ) long banded, with 2–5 inner teeth, with basidorsal process. Right surstylus ( Fig. 19C View FIGURES 19 ) square, with 1–5 inner teeth on internal surface and without basidorsal process.
Female. Unknown.
Specimens examined. 1 ♂, Liaoning, Anshan, Qianshan, 5-Jul-2004, Hong Fang ; 2 ♂, Liaoning, Anshan , Qianshan, 17-Aug-2018, Jiao Zhang.
Distribution. China (Liaoning), Russia.
Remarks. This species can be distinguished from C. schnittmanni Schmitz, 1926 and C. floricola Schmitz, 1938 by lacking basidorsal process of right surstylus.
