First flagellomere dark brown, 0.20–0.21 mm long, with an aspect ratio of 1.83–1.90:1; arista 0.38–0.39 mm long, 1.80–1.86 times length of first flagellomere. Palpus dark brown, with 7 short setae apically.
Thorax dark brown. Mid and hind legs brown, fore leg yellowish brown. Fore tibia with 8 small near-dorsal setulae, the uppermost being longer than the rest. Mid femur without sense-organ. Right surstylus ( Figs. 22C, H View FIGURES 22 ) with 14–18 pointed inner teeth on dorsal edge, and with a basidorsal process.
Female. Unknown.
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words grandis (large) and caudatus (tail), indicating the characters of terminalia.
Specimens examined. Holotype, ♂, Ningxia, Mt. Liupan, 15-Jul-2005, Hong Fang . Paratypes, 10 ♂, same data as for holotype ; 1 ♂, Ningxia, Mt. Liupan , 5-Jul-2008, Lixin Su .
Distribution. China (Ningxia).
Remarks. This species is similar to C. schnittmanni Schmitz, 1926 , it is distinguished from the latter by larger size of terminalia and more inner teeth of surstyli. It also differs from C. floricola Schmitz, 1938 by shorter basidorsal process and more inner teeth of right surstylus.
