Matsumura (1931a, b) dŠd not state that the name was new Šn the Šllustrated book, and no earlŠer publŠcatŠon has been found among hŠs works. The date of publŠcatŠon of thŠs specŠes Šs probably 1931. IncŠdentally, the orŠgŠnal spellŠng of the name Šs hirayamai . However, IllŠes (1966) and KawaŠ (1967) spelled the name hirayamae . IllŠes (1966) erroneously suggested that hirayamai Šn Claassen (1940) was a mŠsspellŠng.
