Distribution: Palearctic. Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia (European part, Caucasus, Southern Siberia), San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. ( England, Scotland, Wales), Ukraine.
Larval host plant(s): Avena sp., Avenula pratensis (L.) Dumort., Poa trivialis L., Festuca ovina L., F. rupicola Heuffel , F. trachyphylla (Hackel) Krajina , Phleum sp., Poa trivialis L. (all Poaceae ) ( Stainton 1858a,b; Hoffmann 1893; Sønderup 1949; Lhomme 1951; Szöcs 1971; Buszko 1990b; E.M. Hering 1957; Parenti & Varalda 1994).
