Symphoristis ptychospila Meyrick, 1913: 56 View in CoL . Type locality: South Africa, Pretoria ( Meyrick 1913: 56). Lectotype ♂ designated by Parenti (1988), in TMSA.
Perittia ptychospila: Kaila (1999a: 163) View in CoL , as synonym of P. nimbifera View in CoL .
Distribution: Afrotropical. South Africa.
Larval host plant(s): unknown.
Figs.: No illustration available.
Remarks: Parenti (1988) considered P. ptychosphila a synonym of P. nimbifera , and Kaila (1999a) followed this. Vári et al. (2002: 40) re-instated it as a valid species. De Prins & De Prins (2017) listed P. ptycosphila again as a synonym of P. nimbifera .
