Description. Male. Body small. Head. Fastigium verticis conical, apex obtusely rounded, dorsal surface with a thin furrow. Eyes ovoid, projecting outwards ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ). Apical segments of maxillary palpi slightly longer than subapical ones, apices faintly inflated ( Fig. 8B View FIGURE 8 ). Pronotum. Anterior margin faintly arched, posterior margin narrowly rounded; lateral lobes longer than high, posterior margin narrowing to backward, humeral sinus indistinct ( Fig. 8B View FIGURE 8 ). Wings. Tegmina overlapped and concealed beneath pronotum, apices reaching the middle area of second abdominal tergite, apices rounded; hind wings absent ( Fig. 8A View FIGURE 8 ). Legs. Procoxae with 1 spine. Ventral margins of all femora without spine, apices of genicular lobes of postfemora obtusely rounded. Protibiae with 4 pairs of spines and 1 pair of apical spurs on ventral surface; protibial tympana opened on both sides, long oval, internal tympanum larger than external one. Mesotibiae ventrally with 3 internal spines and 4 external spines, apices with 1 pair of spines. Posttibiae with 26–32 internal spines and 24–30 external spines on flat dorsal surface, ventral surface with 1–3 internal spines and 1–5 external spines, apices with 1 pair of dorsal spurs and 2 pairs of ventral spurs ( Fig. 8A, C View FIGURE 8 ). Abdomen. Posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite with 1 triangular concavity in middle, the lateral lobes triangular ( Fig. 8D View FIGURE 8 ). Cerci short, basal half with rounded lobe in the internal margin, interno-dorsal margin slightly extending to middle area of cerci; apical half right-angularly incurved, stout, apices obtuse ( Fig. 8D, E View FIGURE 8 ). Subgenital plate roughly trapezoidal, basal area broad and narrowing from basal to apical area; basal margin straight, the lateral margins slightly curving dorsad, apical area nearly trapezoidal projecting and ventrally curved, posterior margin feebly concave ( Fig. 8G View FIGURE 8 ). Styli slender and conical, inserted at the ventral margin of subapical area of subgenital plate ( Fig. 8E, F View FIGURE 8 ).

Female. Appearance similar to male. Lateral margins of eighth abdominal tergite with apices extending to backward, apex obtusely rounded; posterior margin of ninth abdominal tergite obtusely concave; tenth abdominal tergite narrow with posterior margin straight ( Fig. 9C View FIGURE 9 ). Epiproct small, nearly semicircular. Cerci short and stout, conical ( Fig. 9C View FIGURE 9 ). Ovipositor with stout basal area and narrowing from basal to apical area, moderately upcurved, dorsal and ventral valvulae nearly equal in length; apices of dorsal valvulae acute, apices of ventral ones hook-shaped ( Fig. 9E, F View FIGURE 9 ). Subgenital plate roughly triangular in ventral view with broad basal area, narrowing from basal to apical area; basal margin archedly concave, the lateral areas concave on dorsal surface, posterior margin slightly concave ( Fig. 9D View FIGURE 9 ).

Coloration. Body yellowish brown. Eyes dark brown. Disc of pronotum with 4 longitudinal brown stripes: the internal stripes broad and fused to the apex of head, the external stripes extending to internal margins of antennal sockets. Pronotum with 1 pair of longitudinal black stripes, between the stripes pale brown, outer sides of the black stripes with 1 longitudinal yellowish stripe. Apices of genicular lobes of mesofemora black, the spines of posttibiae brown. Abdominal tergites light brown.

Material examined. Holotype: male, Xiaoqiaogou, Xichou , Yunnan, July 25, 2021, coll. by Xun Bian . Paratypes: 4 males and 2 females, the other information as holotype. Other specimens: 3 males and 6 females, Xiajinchang, Malipo , Yunnan, August 11, 2014, coll. by Jiaguo Gao and Qiong Song ; 1 male, Lianhuatang, Xichou , Yunnan, August 14, 2014, coll. by Jiaguo Gao and Qiong Song ; 1 female, Gulinqing, Maguan , Yunnan, July 30, 2014, coll. by Jiaguo Gao and Qiong Song .

Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 6.4–7.0, ♀ 7.6–9.0; pronotum: ♂ 3.5–4.5, ♀ 3.9–4.3; tegmen: ♂ 2.1–2.4, ♀ 2.3–2.4; postfemur: ♂ 6.8–7.9, ♀ 8.0–8.7; ovipositor: 7.0–7.2.

Distribution. Yunnan (Maguan, Malipo, Xichou).

Discussion. The new species is very similar to Phlugiolopsis tuberculata Xia & Liu, 1993 , but differs from the latter by: male cerci simple, only with narrow lobe in the internal margin, apical half stout, cylindrical; lateral margins of female eighth abdominal tergite without tuberculate process at apex, female subgenital plate nearly triangular, apical area significantly narrower than the base. In Phlugiolopsis tuberculata Xia & Liu, 1993 , interno-dorsal margin of male cerci obviously expanding; lateral margins of female eighth abdominal tergite with a tuberculate process at apex, the basal area of female subgenital plate about as wide as the apex.

Etymology. The name of the new species is derived from the stout and nearly cylindrical apical half of male cerci.
