Hesperapis (Amblyapis) arida Michener, 1936 View in CoL

[ Holotype: CASC; ♂ 32.19 km south of Twenty-Nine Palms , San Bernardino Co., California, USA; April 14, 1935]

This species has been recorded in the southwestern USA and the BCP and specializes on pollen from Larrea tridentata (DC.) Coville ( Fowler 2020) . Gerald Stage and Roy Snelling examined two specimens collected in the Vizcaíno Desert at Rancho el Tablón in April 1983 (personal communication with John Ascher). See fig. 270.
